    MasterBus Interfaces

    Mastervolt offers a wide range of interfaces to increase the versatility of your MasterBus network. Connect multiple components to distribute information to your MasterBus products or connect products that require information from the MasterBus network, such as a NMEA 2000 or Modbus network, and vice versa.

    All interfaces (and modules) can be installed in various ways, from DIN rails to surface mounting. MasterBus is available in ten languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish.

    MasterBus AC Master Interface (77032700)

    The MasterBus AC Master Interface is an addition to our range of MasterBus interfaces, allowing seamless integration of an AC Master inverter into every MasterBus network. Just as all other MasterBus interfaces, the AC Master Interface can be installed on DIN rails or as surface mounting. 
    By adding the AC Master Interface to your installation, you can now control your AC Master inverter via our MasterBus communication network. The AC Master Interface is suitable for all AC Master inverters with a RJ11 serial interface (all 700 W models and up). A communication cable is included in the delivery.

     

    MasterBus LIN Bus Interface (77032800)

    The MasterBus LIN Bus Interface has been developed to enable the Vokswagen Crafter to communicate with our MLI Ultra Lithium Ion battery. The MasterBus LIN Bus Interface is designed for use in vehicles equipped with a LIN enabled (secondary) alternator option. It will guaranty a seamless integration of the MLI Ultra battery into the vehicle's LIN Bus and provide the alternator and Engine Control Unit (ECU) with the necessary data from the MLI Ultra battery to monitor and charge the battery accordingly. Just as all other MasterBus interfaces, the LIN Bus Interface can be installed on DIN rails or as surface mounting. The LIN Bus Interface can be used in combination with the Mastervolt MLI Ultra batteries (
    MLI Ultra 12/2500 or MLI Ultra 12/5000).

     

    MasterBus Philippi Interface (77031850)

    The MasterBus Philippi Interface makes it possible to view and control Mastervolt products on a Philippi PSM2 display. Mastervolt products use the CAN-based MasterBus protocol to communicate between products. Similar, the company Philippi uses the PBUS protocol. The MasterBus Philippi Interface connects the worlds of MasterBus and PBUS.


    Access to the world of Philippi system monitors

    The MasterBus Philippi Interface translates the messages from MasterBus to PBUS, and vice versa. In addition to the devices available on the PBUS, the Philippi System Monitor (PSM) will be able to monitor and control up to 6 Mastervolt products. For each product, a selection of the most popular values and controls are displayed, for example the State of Charge of your battery bank measured by the MasterShunt.

    Compatible products include Mass Combi, Mass Combi Ultra, MLI Ultra, ChargeMaster, ChargeMaster Plus and MasterShunt 500. Plug & Play configuration of the MasterBus Philippi Interface makes life easy. The Philippi System Monitor even allows configuring the displayed Mastervolt products. 


    This Interface solution allows combining complete Mastervolt power systems with Philippi System Monitors, showing all system information on a single display.

    MasterBus CANopen Interface (77032600)

    The MasterBus CANopen Interface facilitates transparent, 2-way communication between MasterBus and the CANopen standard, which is adopted in many automotive and industrial automation applications.


    Functionality

    Programming of the MasterBus CANopen interface is easy and transparent, allowing complete monitoring and control of your Mastervolt system from 3rd party devices. The interface allows a programmer to generate or read generic CANopen messages as defined in the CiA 301 specification, thus maximizing the design freedom for a systems engineer.

    Architecture

    CANopen devices have access to every single MasterBus device. Information exchange between CANopen and MasterBus is organised through the use of so-called data fields. Every individual item within MasterBus, such as the state of charge of a battery or the on/off button of an inverter, can be accessed through one of these data fields. A maximum of 100 data fields may be configured. Besides access to these individual items, also MasterBus Events may be used and exchanged with CANopen. The open and transparent architecture of the MasterBus CANopen Interface creates extensive possibilities for automation and monitoring.

    Configuration

    The interface can be configured manually using MasterAdjust. For fast configuration, string-based mapping is available.
    Allowing full monitoring and control of any Mastervolt system through a CANopen enabled device or display, the MasterBus CANopen Interface facilitates complete and easy-to-use power systems inside any mobile or industrial application.

    CZone MasterBus Bridge Interface (80-911-0072-00)

    The CZone MasterBus Bridge Interface physically connects the MasterBus and CZone networks together, enabling the two networks to communicate and act as one. This provides seamless control and monitoring of Mastervolt power electronics from CZone displays or partner products.

    Multipurpose Contact Output (77030500)

    MasterBus controllable potential-free contact, with alarm notification on the onboard system (low voltage or no AC), usable as CSI alarm contact. This potential-free programmable contact can be customised and programmed to give your MasterBus network unprecedented possibilities. Use it, for example, to control a ventilator, or to operate a generator.

     

    MasterBus Power Interrupter (77031550)

    The MasterBus Power Interrupter switches off parts of the MasterBus network. This reduces the no-load consumption and is useful if a large system will not be used for an extended period. Communication remains possible

     

    MasterBus FireCAN Interface (77032400)

    FireCAN is an electronic communication system allowing pumps and other equipment to be used via a central control panel on a firefighting truck. The MasterBus FireCAN Interface allows Mastervolt products to be linked into a FireCAN system.


    FireCAN
    FireCAN has become an industry-standard firefighting protocol since its official launch at the Interschutz Exhibition in Leipzig in June 2010.  Several major European firetruck manufacturers and their suppliers developed a ‘common language’ based on the widely used CANOpen found in most modern vehicles. The idea was to make additional firefighting equipment such as pumps and floodlights into ‘plug and play’ items, all sharing a common communication bus which could be monitored and controlled via a single panel on each fire truck.


    Effective solution
    The MasterBus FireCAN Interface is an effective solution for seamless data transfer between MasterBus enabled chargers and the central communication system of a firefighting vehicle. As such, this interface is a real ‘door-opener’ to the firefighting industry, allowing it to use the wide range of batteries, chargers and Combi’s in our portfolio.


    Manual or automatic configuration
    Each MasterBus FireCan Interface passes data about a single charging device to the main fire control panel, including input power availability, charging status, battery voltage and over/under voltage. This data is vital in an emergency situation, and helps prevent a key power source dropping out at a crucial moment, such as when driving the fire pumps. The information from each battery charging device (or charger/inverter combination) in operation is then shared on the FireCAN network. Each interface has a default ‘auto’ mode, which automatically configures FireCAN’s communication with the charging device, but manual configuration is also possible.


    The MasterBus network uses a protocol similar to FireCan for the seamless control and monitoring of all mobile systems. To ensure that FireCAN can interpret all MasterBus data quickly and accurately, a single cable interface is all that is needed.

    MasterBus USB Interface ( 77030100)

    The MasterBus USB Interface enables you to read and configure the MasterBus network via your PC.

     

    MasterBus NMEA2000 interface (77031800)

    The MasterBus NMEA2000 Interface provides the Masterbus network with NMEA information, and vice versa.

     

    MasterBus Modbus Interface (77030800)

    The MasterBus Modbus interface can provide all information from the ‘closed’ MasterBus network 
    for other monitoring and operating systems by means of the Modbus protocol.

     

    MasterBus Combi Interface (77030475)

    This interface integrates a Mastervolt Mass Combi in a MasterBus network and allows it to be operated or monitored via a EasyView 5 panel or PC.

     

    MasterBus Inverter Interface (77030700)

    The MasterBus Inverter Interface integrates the Mastervolt Mass Sine inverter in a MasterBus network and allows it to be operated and monitored via EasyView 5 or PC.

     

    MasterBus Serial Interface (77030450)

    Connect conventional Mastervolt products to MasterBus. Data becomes permanently available to allow configuration, operation and monitoring via EasyView 5 or PC.

    GPRS Module (77031000)

    Communicate with your system via mobile phone, allowing you to monitor current information or operate the system by remote control via a text message or easy shortcuts. Alarm notifications per text message are optional.


    Please note that in some countries (or specific network operators) the G2/GPRS networks are being switched off. For the Asia Pacific area and the Americas, this is already in progress, and the GPRS module will no longer be available in these areas.
    For Europe, the GPRS module will remain available for the time being. It is expected that in Europe, end 2020, the G2/GPRS network will no longer be supported.

     

    MasterBus Tank Level Interface (77030300)

    This interface converts analogue sensor input signals to MasterBus data.


    Selectable input signals: 4-20 mA, 0-300 Ω, 8-70 V DC.

     

    MasterBus Repeater (77031100)

    Double the maximum length of your MasterBus network.

     

    Digital Input (77030900)

    Connect up to four switches to the MasterBus network.

    Digital AC 1x6A (77031500)

    Switches all AC loads, no matter where they are. Loads up to 6 A can be directly switched, higher loads should be switched via a relay. 

    Switch Input 3 PCB (77031300)

    Switch Input 3 makes Carling switches compatible with MasterBus. Multiple functions can be easily linked with this module.

    Switch Input 4 PCB (77031400)

    Provides LED indications for additional information. For example: The LED will blink when a connected lamp fails.

    AC Power Analyser (77031200)

    The AC Power Analyser is a multifunctional measuring device which can visualise the AC current and AC voltage,
    frequency, Cos Phi and power inside the system. Can also be used as MasterBus interface for the Mass Sine series, and offers a free programmable potentialfree contact.

    Use it to connect AC power devices such as generators or isolation transformers to the MasterBus network.
