Optima Blue Top D27M - 12 Volt - 66Ah - 800CCA

Marine Spiral Cell AGM Dual Purpose Battery (D27M)

Vibration is the killer of all batteries. Not so with Optima Blue Top Batteries. Whether your pounding through the waves heading to the reef or down the creek luring with the Minnkota or maybe even skiing one of Australia’s many rivers or lakes. Optima Blue Top patented spiral cell technology enables the Optima Marine series of batteries to withstand vibration most batteries would crumble under.

Perfect for either starting or cranking batteries but also a great choice for an auxiliary battery as well. Optima blue top AGM batteries range from 750cca to 900cca with many different terminal configurations and sizes to suit any location. You can even mount them upside down or on there side and they are guaranteed to be leak proof. They are terminal corrosion free and gas free and will not gas under charge ever. Many batteries when left unused can sulphate up in less than 6 months which can lead to battery failure. Optima blue top batteries can maintain there charge for up to 12months providing there is no current draw. So its ready to go for the next season without even needing charging.

Want more proof of the superior quality of Optima  Batteries? Emergency services such as the Water Police and Naval departments choose Optima to power there marine vessels.

This is Optima’s marine range but they are also suited as cranking and auxiliary batteries for any application whether it be a caravan or camper or for your 4x4 blue top power is not just for the water but every application.

Optima Blue Top D27M Battery

So your heading to the reef or down the creek with the minnkota or maybe towing a board. Whatever your doing on the water you need a battery that wont let you down.

So why the Optima Blue Top D27M? Patented spiral cell technology means 15 times more vibration resistance and this means a lot on the water where vibration kills many batteries.

Optima D27M is gas free and leak proof so it can be mounted in tight fits or upside down and wont corrode your terminals up.

Optima D27M Batteries offer great versatility with dual terminals for any kind of setup. Another benefit of Spiral Cell technology is faster charge rates and the ability to use more of the power available in the battery.

If your are upgrading your existing Optima Battery your Optima D27M is the same as 8027-127, 9027-127, BLUES27M, SC27DM, or N99D27MBLUE.

  • 12 Volts 66 Amps
  • CCA 800amps

specification

Dimensions:

  • Length: 308.86mm
  • Width: 171.75mm
  • Height: 220.98mm (to top of terminals)
  • Weight: 24.4Kg

Recommended Charging Information:

  • Alternator: 13.65 to 15.0 volts
  • Battery Charger (Constant Voltage): 13.8 to 15.0 volts; 10 amps maximum; 6-12 hours approximate
  • Float Charge: 13.2 to 13.8 volts; 1 amp maximum (indefinite time at lower voltages)
  • Rapid Recharge: (Constant voltage charger) Maximum voltage 15.6 volts. No current limit as long as battery temperature remains below 125°F (51.7°C). Charge until current drops below 1 amp.
  • Cyclic or Series String Applications: 14.7 volts. No current limit as long as battery temperature remains below 125°F (51.7°C). When current falls below 1 amp, finish with 3 amp constant current for 1 hour.
  • All limits must be strictly adhered to.
Recharge Time: (example assuming 100% discharge – 10.5 volts)

Current Approx. time to 90% charge
100 amps 45 minutes
50 amps 98 minutes
25 amps 185 minutes

Recharge time will vary according to temperature and charger characteristics. When using Constant Voltage chargers, amperage will taper down as the battery becomes recharged. When amperage drops below 1 amp, the battery will be close to a full state charge.
(All charge recommendations assume an average room temperature of 77°F, 25°C)

Important Note:

Always wear safety glasses when working with batteries. Always use a voltage regulated battery charger with limits set to the above ratings. Overcharging can cause the safety valves to open and battery gases to escape, causing premature end of life. These gases are flammable! You cannot replace water in sealed batteries that have been overcharged. Any battery that becomes very hot while charging should be disconnected immediately. Not fully charging a battery can result in poor performance and a reduction in capacity.
